THE SCS BOOK CLUBS
Santa Cruz Shakespeare book clubs are not like traditional book clubs, but rather a behind-the-scenes look at the table work process our professional artists go through in the rehearsal room.
PARTICIPANTS are assigned roles each week and we rehearse the play in three parts, with directors working with participants in the same way they do with actors during the summer season.
AUDITORS get to watch this process and join in the lively chat and ending Q&As. Every both levels receive a copy of the Folger edition of the script from Santa Cruz Bookshop as part of their tuition. Student auditors will need to purchase their own copy.
For the first 2026 book club sessions we read and discussed Much Ado About Nothing in February. Next up: Macbeth in April. Sessions are held via Zoom.
Scroll down to see pricing for each piece, or a special discount for both. A limited number of scholarships are available for the book club. Contact education@santacruzshakespeare.org to get more information.
