Santa Cruz Shakespeare will be holding in-person auditions for its 2023 season (The Book of Will, by Lauren Gunderson, The Taming of the Shrew and King Lear, by William Shakespeare) on the following dates:

 

In Los Angeles 

Monday, January 30, 2023 9:30am - 5:30pm

Tuesday, January 31, 2023 9:30am - 5:30pm

 

LA Auditions will take place at the Actors’ Equity Audition Center, 5636 Tujunga Blvd., North Hollywood, CA 91601.  Audition appointments must be arranged through AEA. 

 

In Santa Cruz

Monday, February 6, 2023 12pm-8pm

Tuesday, February 7, 2023 12pm-8pm

 

Santa Cruz Auditions will take place at the Veteran's Hall, 846 Front St., Santa Cruz, CA 95060 in downtown Santa Cruz.  To arrange an audition, please write to auditions@santacruzshakespeare.org.

 

In addition to its live auditions, Santa Cruz Shakespeare always accepts video submissions.  These may be sent to auditions@santacruzshakespeare.org, and must be received by the end of day Monday, February 20th.  Please note that review of video auditions will not begin until February, regardless of when they are submitted.

 

All auditions, live or by video, should include 2 contrasting monologues, each under two minutes in length, with at least one by Shakespeare.  Actors who sing or play an instrument are also encouraged to sing or play up to 30 seconds of music.  Please bring, or include in your email, a headshot and resume.
