Santa Cruz Shakespeare, a new, independent nonprofit theatre company, seeks a DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE to provide skilled and professional administrative support to the organization. We seek a highly organized, detail-oriented self-starter with a passion for fundraising and the arts. This individual will help build and sustain relationships with donors and audience members and support senior staff and Board. Specific responsibilities include: Interface with Board, donors, and community partners on behalf of the organization;Generate direct response mailings, batch emails and other donor solicitations;Generate all donor acknowledgements and other correspondence;Manage benefits fulfillment and stewardship activities; Manage Business Partnership task force to forge local and regional alliances, plus assist in staffing other Development committees/task forces.
Desired qualifications include: Excellent written and oral communications skills; Exceptional organizational skills and ability to multi-task; Demonstrated experience in database management; Comfortable and articulate in a public setting; Ability to maintain professional conduct, attitude and appearance at all times; Capacity to work independently and as part of a team.
