SCS 2025 Season Auditions
Santa Cruz Shakespeare is now accepting video auditions for the 2025 Season, which includes A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Into the Woods, Pericles, “Master Harold”…and the Boys, and A Christmas Carol. For a list of available roles, please see our official call at actorsequity.org.
Live auditions are preferred if possible. (Scroll down for live audition info.)
Contract dates for the summer repertory season:

Midsummer and Pericles: June 10 - August 31

Into the Woods: June 10 - September 7

Master Harold: June 10 - September 28

Contract dates for Carol TBD (November - December)
To accept a contract, you must be available for all dates in that contract.
Live Audition Info:
Live auditions in Santa Cruz, CA will take place on Saturday, January 25, 2025, from 9am to 5pm (lunch 1 - 2pm) at the Veterans Memorial Building in downtown Santa Cruz (846 Front St.). Day-of signups at the location; everyone will be seen; it’s often slow after lunch.
Live auditions in Los Angeles, CA will take place on Thursday, January 30, 2025 from 9am to 5pm (lunch 1 - 2pm) at the Actors’ Equity Building in North Hollywood. AEA actors can sign up ahead of time at actorsequity.org; non-union actors can get on a waiting list day-of. We will try very hard to see everyone; last year we managed to do so.
For live auditions, please prepare UNDER TWO MINUTES TOTAL, consisting of:

One Shakespeare monologue OR
-
One Shakespeare monologue + one contrasting monologue (Shakespeare or not) OR
-
One Shakespeare monologue + thirty seconds of a cappella song
Recorded Auditions:
Please record two contrasting pieces, at least one of them Shakespeare…
(Yes, both can be Shakespeare.)
…and a 30 second song if you want to be considered for the musical…
(Live music, tracks, and a cappella all are okay.)
…and upload them as a single video under 3 minutes to YouTube.
(If it’s over 3 minutes or not a YouTube link, we will not watch your video.)
(A brief slate is welcome but not necessary.)
